Our planning application proposes a total of 375 homes, of which 75 (20 per cent) are affordable and the remainder are Private Rented Sector (PRS) homes.
In cooperation with BCC and the HCA, the affordable percentage has increased to 20%. Changes to the design, unit mix and massing allowed an increase in the number of affordable homes from 58 to 75 – an extra 17 homes.
Of the 75 affordable homes, 58 are for rent and 17 shared ownership. Importantly, the rents are at Local Housing Allowance rates inclusive of service charges, making them affordable for a wider range of residents.
The PRS homes offer high-quality, longer-term tenancies with a single, institutional landlord, providing certainty and security for tenants.
